Inspiration for this weekend 🌟
🗺️ Explore
Faxe Kalkbrud 🪨
I’m sharing a real gem in Sjælland—Faxe Kalkbrud this week. It’s an awesome and totally different kind of place to visit in Denmark. The white chalk, the turquoise lake, and the vastness of the landscape left a real impression on us.
Located in South Sjælland, Faxe Kalkbrud is one of Denmark’s most unique natural wonders. This enormous open chalk quarry was formed over 60 million years ago.
There’s so much to do here:
🦴 Go fossil hunting! If you look closely, you might find shark teeth, mussels, or corals.
🚶 Walk the Faxe Kalkbrud Trail, which takes you past 5 marked points of interest around the area. See this folder for more information.
🧑🔬 Visit the Geomuseum Faxe to learn more about the history of the chalk and marine fossils found here.
The Faxe Kalkbrud experience is free of charge (except for the museum), and there’s plenty of parking right next to the Geomuseum.
If you are nearby, you have to visit this place. We had so much fun here!
🍽️ Recipe of the week
Tortellini Soup with Basil 🍲
While Spring weather is not that warm, we still crave hearty food at home. Tortellini soup with basil is a creamy, rich soup that’s as easy as it is satisfying. I followed this lovely recipe, and it turned out delicious. Serve it with warm bread.
I hope this weekend brings a bit of adventure and a lot of joy. 💛
Until next time,
Dovile
