Inspiration for this weekend 🌟

Kalø Slotsruin 🏰
Kalø Slotsruin (Kalø Castle Ruins) was probably our first micro-adventureafter moving to Aarhus, and it’s still one of my favorite places to visit! If you can, try to go during the golden hour. The late afternoon colors are stunning, and the sea sparkles beautifully in the soft light. 🌅 There are fewer people too.
It’s only about a 35-minute drive from Aarhus, and the parking is free. There’s also a cozy café nearby with delicious ice cream 🍦, plus public restrooms for convenience.
The walk to the ruins is part of Denmark’s best-preserved and longest medieval road, making it a fascinating journey in itself. Make sure to wear comfy shoes, as the path is about 20-25 minutes long. Also, bring warm clothes if you’re visiting in the colder months - it can get quite windy! Once you reach the castle remains, the view of the sea surrounding the peninsula is truly magnificent. Admission is free. Enjoy! 🌊
🍽️ Recipe of the week
Celeriac Rösti
This week’s recipe is a twist on a classic: Celeriac Rösti! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. 👌🏻 They’re packed with flavor and are a great way to try something new with this underrated root vegetable. I like to serve them with a dollop of creme fraiche and smoked salmon.
Here’s to another weekend full of beautiful views, tasty food, and cozy moments! 🌟
Until next time,
Dovile
